The L’arse Golf group meets twice a month to play a variety of courses. One of the season highlights is “The School is Open Open” held the first day the students go back to school after summer vacation.
The goal of the golf group is to create an opportunity to play rather than an obligation, in other words, play when you feel like playing. Most golfers play 18 holes but accommodations are made for those who prefer to play 9 holes. The skill levels vary considerably. What everyone has in common is an enjoyment of the game, the exercise and the company, not necessarily in that order!
School’s Open Open Wednesday, August 29 at Golf Dorval
“It’s that most wonderful time of the year”. Classes start on Wednesday August 29 and L’ARSE Golf holds its annual School’s Open Open.
I have booked six starting times for eighteen holes at Golf Dorval beginning at 11:12 and three times for nine holes beginning at 13:30. As per last year, cocktails and dinner will be held at the club’s Bistro 19 (Chuck Bowman’s) with the former beginning at about 15:45 and the latter at around 17:00. The dinner price is $14.99 plus service and taxes and includes Soup of the day and the following options: Homemade fish and chips, Hamburger steak and mashed potatoes, Homemade pigs knuckles and sauerkraut, Thai veggie stir fry with pasta and Fusili pasta with Italian Sausage.
As always, significant others and L’ARSE Executive members who are not playing golf are invited to join us for drinks and dinner.
If you are interested in participating, I would ask you to get back to me by Wednesday night (August 22) with the following information:
- Would you like to play nine or eighteen holes?
- Would you like to use a power cart?
- Which main course option would you like?
- Which main course would your significant other, if attending, like?
- Which main course option, if you are a non-playing Executive member, like?
I look forward to seeing you at the Open,
